Welcome to the new Abstract Sun Art – Mixed Media Paint Pouring tutorial. In this fluid art lesson, we will do a Sun mixed media project. This one is going to be a lot of fun because I want to try something new. I’m going to use my hoops in a new way. We’re going to use them to create separation or separate fragments inside of the pour painting.
And with this separation, I want to achieve the effect of radiance that comes from the center of sun acrylic painting. And once my fluid acrylics are dry, I’m going to use a new mandala art stencil to create a textured design. That’s going to represent the Sun with all this light that comes from it. “Sunkissed” is a secret message for this abstract painting.

We will start with creating sunlight effect coming from the center. I’m going to work from the outside towards the center, and I’m going to use the biggest hoop that I have. To emphasize the radiance effect I’m also going to implement the gradient from lighter to darker, so the lightest is in the center and it goes towards the darker color on the outside. So let’s see how this one turns out. And without further ado let’s get started.
Here this abstract sun painting is dry, finished, and I used a little spray varnish at this time just to add a little bit of gloss but still keep all the texture that I created in my designs. And I think this fluid painting, it has a very modern look. But at the same time, it has a little bit of boho style vibe. I just really love how the texture of my abstract sun-inspired mandala turned out. I did this dabbing motion when I applied my gel and paint, and it created little picks in the design, it also blended the paint so beautifully. I love it so much, totally going to do it again. I hope you enjoyed the process and looking forward to hearing from you! Happy creating!
