Bright Dutch Pour -

Abstract Art For Beginners ☀️

Acrylic Pouring Tutorial by Olga Soby

Acrylic Pouring Technique | Just Paint & Water

Today we’re going to create a Bright Dutch Pour Abstract Art For Beginners. I want to go for black and white negative space in this abstract painting. I’m going to go for the split color base, and also instead of adding my colors in the puddle, I will add strings of colors. All of my colors for this pour painting are mixed with just paint and water.

This time, I’m working on a 14 by 18 inches cradled wood panel. I have prepared the colors, I have turquoise, dioxazine purple, azo pink, primary red, and of course gold. And I want to work on a black and white color split base, so I want to have my white in the center, and I will have black at the top and the bottom of this acrylic painting. My pouring recipe is all of my colors are mixed with just paint and water, no other additives, no pouring medium, silicone, just paint and H2O.

Acrylic Pouring RECIPE used for today’s flow art painting:

Acrylic paint is mixed with water only to a fluid consistency. I add approximately 30-50% of water to my colors. There is no exact % or proportion because this ratio depends on initial paint viscosity, which significantly varies from brand to brand and even from color to color.

My paint is very fluid so I don’t need a lot of it. I’m going to add my colors over the white because I don’t want them to overmix with black. Of course, they will overmix a little when I blow them out with a blow dryer. Let’s see how this one turns out. And without further ado let’s get started.

Here is this Acrylic Pour Painting is all dry. So, it has dried really amazingly. The colors definitely dried a bit darker, so there is more contrast and more definition. I totally love the top and the bottom section. I love how airy and light this abstract painting looks! And who said that it always needs to be done just in one blow or one flip or one pour or one whatever technique you’re doing. You know what, it’s your painting, and it’s only up to you always. I hope you enjoyed the process and looking forward to hearing from you! Happy creating!
