Dutch Pour Acrylic Pouring

Acrylic Pouring Tutorial by Olga Soby

Just PAINT and WATER 💙 ~ PRUSSIAN Blue + Turquoise + Gold ~ Fluid Art

COLOR SPLIT Dutch Pour Acrylic Pouring – is a new video tutorial. I keep exploring this contrasting sort of oceanic color palette with beautiful turquoise, Prussian blue, and gold. So today I’m working on 11 by 14 cradled wood panel, and all the colors are mixed with just water.

As always I taped the sides to keep the clean wood edge and primed the top with gesso. And I’m not gonna be using a blow dryer today. I’m just gonna blow with my mouth to create the design. In this acrylic pouring tutorial, I share how I prepare cradled wood panels before pouring and a few other useful things 😉

Acrylic Pouring RECIPE used for today’s flow art painting:

Acrylic paint is mixed with water only to a fluid consistency. I add approximately 30-50% of water to my colors. There is no exact % or proportion because this ratio depends on initial paint viscosity, which significantly varies from brand to brand and even from color to color.

So one side is going to be Prussian blue and titanium white on the other side. All the colors are mixed with water only including my base colors. And all of this is just regular acrylic paint. I don’t use house paint in my pours. I have blended my white with Prussian blue a little bit. I love how they work together, these two colors. I’m gonna add some of the phthalo emerald into my Prussian blue.

And for my flow, I’m adding titanium white. And this time I’m adding it closer to the white border, to the border between Prussian blue and white. Next, right over the white, I’m adding gold, iridescent green-blue, and red-violet for some accents and some contrast in this beautiful flow.

And with that being said let’s dive right into it. Let’s go!

I think it turned out amazing! Bright, shiny, and beautiful! I love this composition. And I love how simple, bold, and contrasting the base is. With beautiful gold and iridescent accents, and colors in the main flow. I think this color palette totally works amazing. The soft edges and contrasting flow really make this abstract painting speak the story of its own. You should check out this pour painting! 😊 And I’m gonna do several more paintings in this style with different color combinations, layouts, compositions. I really want to explore this a lot more.

I hope you enjoyed the process and looking forward to hearing from you! 💙 Happy creating!
