In this Acrylic Pouring Video Tutorial let’s create a Deep Violet + Gold Abstract Art. Let’s have some fun with the funnel! This time I’m going to do a traveling funnel acrylic pouring technique. Actually, it’s going to be a double traveling funnel on the color split base. And a traveling funnel technique is the one that really allows you to create a beautiful flow in your pour, yet leaves some negative space. And I would say it gives you a lot of control over the composition. So, this is what I really like about it.
For the recipe for this pour painting, all of my colors are mixed to a very fluid consistency with pouring medium and water. This is not my regular floetrol and water mixture that I normally use for a funnel technique. So, let’s see how that’s going to work.

And also I have a pretty exciting experiment to make for this fluid painting. For my colors here I have some iridescent gold, and violet, and this is a beautiful color – iridescent red-blue. It changes the shade when it’s dry depending on the angle of light. So, I want to have my white in the center and other colors would be on the corners. Also for this pour painting, I have a mix of colors. For this color, I have mixed some mars black, some phthalo blue, and some violet color. Let’s see how it works, and without further ado let’s get started.
All right, I’m finally ready to stop with this abstract painting. I have changed the plan like two times, three times as I was pouring the paint. It went so differently from what I initially planned. And I am so glad that it did because I just totally love this pour painting idea. And honestly, I wasn’t like 100% sure about this fluid painting when I just finished it, and it was still wet. But when it dried and the colors became darker and deeper, and those metallics and iridescent colors really popped, this abstract artwork looks absolutely gorgeous. So, this is my golden flame and white river! I hope you enjoyed the process and looking forward to hearing from you! Happy creating!
