Gorgeous DANCING SPLASH

Acrylic Pour Painting

Acrylic Pouring Tutorial by Olga Soby

EASY and QUICK Fluid Painting 👌 ~ Step-by-Step Fluid Art

Today I’ll create a Gorgeous DANCING SPLASH Acrylic Pour Painting. In this Fluid Art tutorial, I’ll continue the “Dancing Flow” series. I’m not gonna use a blow dryer this time, I’ll create beautiful blown petals just with my breath! Today I’m working on a pretty big 16 by 20 cradle wood panel.

I get a lot of questions about my working surface. I work on wood because I like the flat and sturdy surface that it creates for my pours, and for my resin finish. I also love keeping clean wood edges. This is why I tape my sides before I get started with the pour. In this Acrylic Painting, I’ll take prussian blue and titanium white colors for my base.

Acrylic Pouring RECIPE used for today’s flow art painting:

Acrylic paint is mixed with water only to a fluid consistency. I add approximately 30-50% of water to my colors. There is no exact % or proportion because this ratio depends on initial paint viscosity, which significantly varies from brand to brand and even from color to color.

What I like about prussian blue is that it dries really dark, almost black. It creates a lot of contrast with white, but when over mixed with white, it doesn’t create gray. It creates blue, bluish-gray, and it’s so beautiful.

Little tip: If you have something you do not like in your painting, you can always take a little tissue paper or some sort of paper towel and gently dip out that section that you want to change. And then you can add your base color and blow it out, or swipe it out, and do whatever you want to do with it.

This blowing technique with finger swipe allows me to get rounded shapes, curly movement, and organic flow😍

For this pour painting, I chose a greenish-bluish-turquoise color palette with a little copper, that creates such a fabulous combo!

When you work with the blowing or dutch pour technique, it requires a very fluid consistency and allows creating the most beautiful lacing, cells, and color transition with the most simple pouring recipe.

By the way, a secret message is hidden in this acrylic pour painting😉 And I think it fits perfectly with the outcome.

I hope you enjoyed the process and looking forward to hearing from you! Happy creating!
