Welcome to the new Lava Dragon - Paint Pouring Abstract Art tutorial. This time I want to do a painting inspired by lava flow. I have recently came across some gorgeous pictures from Iceland and volcanoes, and all the lava eruption, and they are so beautiful, so I want to have my own take on this. 

"From Within" is a secret message for this abstract painting. I want to create the dancing flow using some really hot lava colors. And for my base, I want to give it an energy and color of lava rock, so of this cooled and solidified lava. And it has this gray almost bluish gray color when you look at the pictures, so I have mixed some black and white to achieve some really dark gray, but I also added some blue to it to have a little bit even cooler tone in it.

Here this lava painting is done, covered with a thin layer of varnish. I used glossy varnish. And this fluid painting turned out really hot. It’s a fire dragon born from a volcano eruption. Such a beautiful vision. And initially, I planned to add a textured embellishment on one side of this pour painting but when it was dry, I was looking at it, and I was planning out how I would do my embellishment, and I just realized that I don’t want to add anything. This abstract painting is so beautiful but it’s also so strong, the flow is very contrasty, and big, and adding anything any embellishment would actually steal away from the composition rather than contribute to it.
