Lotus Mandala Art –
Mixed Media Acrylic Pouring 😍
Acrylic Pouring Tutorial by Olga Soby
Multi color base with Embellishment | Abstract Art
Welcome to the new Lotus Mandala Art – Mixed Media Acrylic Pouring tutorial. This time we are going to create fluid painting with a really vibrant summery base and embellish it with a gorgeous stencil with a lotus design. “Joyfulness” is a secret message for this abstract painting. This lotus stencil is my new stencil and I have used it once already.
I did it with a really dark red base and the stencil design was gold and that artwork turned out fabulous. So, in this abstract art tutorial, I want to sort of reverse the color idea. I want to make it lighter and more vibrant. Some of colors for my base are pastel, some are vibrant but they are definitely all very light. And the stencil design itself I want to be dark, probably, I’m going to do it black, and I might add a couple of metallics to it.

All my colors are mixed with water only, and I’m working on 16 by 16 canvas this time. And I’m just gonna pour all of my colors right in the cup. So I will go for the dirty pour in this fluid art lesson. I really don’t mind if my colors overmix because nothing can get muddy here. And without further ado let’s see how this creative abstract art idea turned out!
This fluid acrylic painting is dry, finished with a thin layer of varnish for this very subtle beautiful sheen. This texture, this embellishment with stencil turned out to be so perfect in this one. The prussian blue and the phthalo blue that I used in the stencil, they dryed darker because acrylic is very dark plus the gloss gel that I used underneath, dry transparent. And there is just a lot more contrast in the pour painting now. It really stands out. I’m so happy that I added some of the same colored blues into my turquoise sections because it really helps the blue to blend into the rest of the painting. I hope you enjoyed the process and looking forward to hearing from you! Happy creating!
