Moon Phases Art
Acrylic Pouring Video for Beginners 🌕
Acrylic Pouring Tutorial by Olga Soby
Space Art Tutorial | Abstract Fluid Art
Welcome to a new Moon art acrylic pouring for beginners. In this fluid art tutorial, I will create seven phases of the moon. I continue my “Dancing universe” pour painting series. And I want to show you a whole new approach to this process. I want to have a full moon in the center, a waxing crescent on one side, and waning on the other. And to create this abstract painting of the moon I want to go for quite the multi-step process – I want to work in layers.
On my panel which is 8 by 24 inches, I have marked approximately where each phase of the moon is going to go. So what do I mean by working in layers? What acrylic pouring technique I’m going to use? First, I want to create my color for the moons.

So, I’m going to pour some colors, then I’m going to blow them out, and create the design in areas where I want to have my moons. And then I’m going to let my fluid painting dry completely, paint around to create the appropriate shapes for each phase of the moon, and then after I paint around I’m going to create the negative space. “Luna Harmony” is a secret message for this abstract moon painting. So, let’s see how it turns out, and without further ado let’s get started. Let’s go.
And here this abstract art painting is dry and finished with the layer of epoxy resin. And I added some extra star pigment to my resin. So you can see how beautiful it sparks up against the light. You know what I think? I will just never have enough of this beautiful effect. I love how each moon in this fluid painting is so different and unique and yet they are all really in balance with each other. And this was such an interesting multi-step fluid art process, very complex but each step is very simple and result looks just beautiful. And I highly recommend you give this fluid art technique a try. It’s different from our regular pouring techniques. So it’s the perfect opportunity to challenge your creative thinking and try something new.
I hope you enjoyed the process and looking forward to hearing from you! Happy creating!
