Acrylic Pouring Tutorial by Olga Soby
Which Cells Recipe Works the best???🤔🤓
Today I wanna do a small experiment: Silicone - Dish Soap - Alcohol Acrylic Pouring – Which Cells Recipe Works the best? And I thought I would share it with you guys maybe it’s going to be helpful for some of you as well. So, I want to compare different acrylic pour cells recipes and, I want to compare silicon to dish soap and to the rubbing alcohol.
I want to see what creates the best and the most beautiful cells for fluid paintings. Generally, silicone is the most popular additive for cells. It’s pretty good, I worked with it for a very very long time so I know what results to expect. But, many people don’t like it due to the annoying hustle with the cleaning and I totally understand that. I know that some artists are using dish soap and alcohol as a substitute for silicone to create cells.

I have never done this before, I don’t really know if it actually works or not. For my experiment, I’m using primary colors and white. I think it’s best for this type of experiment because you can see the way colors are over-mixing and whether they are not they are retaining their saturation and brightness.
So that’s what I wanna test today and let’s get started!
So, all three look very cool and very different. I’m going to experiment with acrylic pour with dish soap more because I want to explore the possibilities of this recipe more. If you want to go for crazy, intense cells, silicone is probably your best choice for your pour painting. I really like to use it in my fluid paintings. It depends on the acrylic pouring technique you want to go for. I think it was a great experiment! I am very glad that I did it. It really surprised me to see that all 3 work and they all 3 work differently. I hope you enjoyed the process and looking forward to hearing from you! Happy creating!
