Copper + Dark base in Acrylic Pouring ~ Fluid abstract art
This time weāll create a Smoky Base Acrylic Abstract Painting. How about acrylic pouring with some rich vibrant colors on a dark base? I want to continue the gradient pour painting exploration. I have done gradient pour on black and white color split base, and then one on just white base. So, today is time to try a black or rather dark base for my abstract painting. I have some very beautiful warm reds, and yellow, and orange colors for my gradient.
āRadianceā is a secret message for this piece. I have black and some violet for the base. I didnāt really overmix them. So, there is some pure black and pure violet. I donāt know if this is going to make a whole lot of difference because this violet color dries really dark. So might as well all look just black when this pour painting is dry.

But I thought it would be fun to add a little bit of violet as well. Because along with these colors Iām going to be adding some white, and when white blends into violet it looks fabulous. I want to add a bit of copper in this abstract painting too. Copper is one color that I donāt use a whole lot. Iām a big fan of gold color. But I thought that with all my warm colors, with red color palette it might look fabulous.
Letās see how this fluid painting turns out. Without further ado letās get started.
This abstract painting is quite different from my regular style. Especially different from previous gradient pour paintings that Iāve done. What I donāt really like in this artwork is that because I place my puddles of color so far from each other. There is no continuous flow in the composition of this fluid painting. I added a finger swipe, and it did help to connect everything pretty well. But even with that, this pour painting looks more like separate bursts rather than a continuous gradient of color like I wanted to create. Because of all these glows in the base, this background looks super interesting. With pops of color and all this movement, the whole abstract painting looks super dramatic, super dynamic, and modern. I also love where I had enough white between my reds and a dark base. This acrylic pour painting looks absolutely gorgeous.
I am happy with this piece, thatās awesome! I hope you enjoyed the process and looking forward to hearing from you! Happy creating!
