Welcome to the new Wheat Spike Abstract Acrylic Painting Video Tutorial. This time I’m going to create a second pour painting inspired by the colors of the national Ukrainian Flag. So I will be working with a blue and yellow color palette again. And in my previous fluid painting with those colors, I created a wheat field with a blue-blue sky.
And for this artwork, I want to go for a more abstract look. I want to create a beautiful flow that will resemble the feel and the look of the wheat spike. A single wheat spike on the blue background. “Peaceful flow” is a secret message for this abstract painting.

Abstract Acrylic Painting:
As for my colors, I’m going to go for the color split. One part is going to be light blue. I have mixed brilliant blue with white. It’s very close to sky blue. And for the bottom part, I want to have a really dark blue. For this one, I have mixed Phthalo blue with black. It’s going to dry almost black but it’s going to have some splashes of blue in it, especially, where it’s going to touch the white. And in the center of this pour painting, I want to have a really bright vibrant juicy yellow flow full of life, full of energy. Also, I want to have it with some pops of gold, a little bit of orange color, and copper. This will make the whole flow a little more interesting. Let’s see how it works, and without further ado let’s get started.
Here is this pour painting all dry finished and I covered it as always with a layer of epoxy resin for this beautiful smooth glass-like finish. This fluid painting dried so perfectly. I really love how vibrant this flow turned out, especially with my base colors. And, of course, especially with the flow drying darker, it really gives even more contrast making this whole flow appear even brighter. Plus my yellow dried really nice and juicy, and it didn’t really overmix with blue. And this serenity, the flow, the colors of this abstract painting make me very emotional yet it gives me hope and strength. This is definitely very, very special artwork.
I hope you enjoyed the process and looking forward to hearing from you! Happy creating!
