Paint Pouring Abstract Art 💜

Acrylic Pouring Tutorial by Olga Soby

Acrylic Pouring + Textured Embellishment | Fluid Art Tutorial

Welcome to the new Circle Mandala Art Idea – Paint Pouring Abstract Art tutorial. This time, I have a creative mixed media art idea and I’m going to work on round canvas, this is something quite unusual for me. First, I want to create a design with a sort of burst of color from the center out, and then I’m going to add the mandala art stencil embellishment in the center. For the color palette of this pour painting, I want to work with really rich deep violet and a couple of bright pops of other colors. “Intuition” would be a secret message for this mixed media painting.

The first color for the base is blue-violet. I have a quite generous amount of it. I want the whole background for the mandala embellishment to be sort of on this violet, maybe just the outer parts can be on the other colors.

Acrylic Pouring RECIPE used for today’s flow art painting:

Acrylic paint is mixed with water only to a fluid consistency. I add approximately 30-50% of water to my colors. There is no exact % or proportion because this ratio depends on initial paint viscosity, which significantly varies from brand to brand and even from color to color.

First, I need to imagine how much the violet center will shift when I’m going to be blowing this out. Also, I want to create an effect that my center is sort of glowing from behind. And to achieve such an effect in acrylic pouring I need to add a dark color in the center, and a couple of light colors right outside of it. Also, I want to have some silver, and some iridescent orange-yellow to warm up and create some bright accents in this color palette. Outside of it, I have some rose magenta.

Let’s see how this acrylic pour painting turned out. Without further ado, let’s get started!

Is this my best pour painting with stencil embellishment?! I did not expect to love it so much because I was going to a different concept here. Because usually when I do my stencil embellishments, they always make the brightest center part of the fluid painting. I always make them the most contrasting and they stand out the most. Here I went for a different and creative art idea. Just because the glow of this acrylic painting is so vibrant, I wanted to make this painting, the embellishment, the mandala art part sort of fade in and make it less obvious. And I think this mixed media painting idea worked out absolutely amazing.

I hope you enjoyed this acrylic pouring tutorial and looking forward to hearing from you! Happy creating!
